Cutting the Christmas Tree

Every year the in-laws cut down a Christmas tree in their yard. Their house is located on an old Christmas tree farm, but at this point the trees are way too tall to fit in the house (duh). So, we chop off the top and call it the Christmas tree. Some people say it is a "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree, but I think it is just right. Besides, Charlie Brown's Christmas tree was short and leaning over, plus it didn't have very many needles, so ha.

This year we had the perfect Christmas tree cutting down weather. The sky was blue, the air wasn't bitter cold, the sun was shining bright. A perfect sky.

It's been a long time since I put up a real tree - I can smell the pine almost!
I love your header and graphics.

That's a lovely story. We hardly ever see christmas trees here in the island of Crete where the main festival is Easter. But we have one that is almost real . . .

How cool is that, Kim?! I would love to be able to chop my own tree. Beautiful! Love the way the sun shines through.

Yup, it takes two strong men and a chainsaw. What chance has the tree got?
Hope you enjoy it none the less.

Between my cats, my budget and my health, I can't manage a real tree any more, but I do "pine" for that wonderful aroma.

We use to go to a 'tree farm' every year also! Oh, this brings back such wonderful memories! My kids have the fondest of memories too and the place we went to had Christmas music playing and served hot chocolate! I love your festive post, Kim!

We use to have a real tree every year, but I got tired of the needles sticking around for months, so we now have a nice fake tree. :)
