Lunar Lander to Mission Control

This is mission control..

During our tour of Johnson Space Center we got to go to the old mission control center. This was the place that helped Apollo 13 make it safely back to Earth. In fact, it was operational until the late 1990's. I really wanted to go inside to touch the buttons and answer the important red phone, but we could only just look from the viewing area.

The tour guide told us stories about the old email system (a air tube similar to what they have at the bank). For several years messages weren't making it to their destination and no one could figure out why. During a construction project one of the workers walked in with an armful of old messages he had found in the floor. It turns out one of the tubes broke and messages were flying out into the long lost abyss between the floor and the underlying ceiling. I guess the messages weren't that important.

I want to use the red phone to call #1 and ask him who he is!
