Odd Shot Monday

I am straying from my usual Odd post this week because I actually saw something strange while we were in Door County last weekend. We have been past this Swedish restaurant several times before, but this time we noticed something different. As we drove by we saw the "green" roof, but this time there was something up there, and it moved. We all looked at each other and said, "Was there a goat on that roof?". There couldn't be a goat on the roof, could there? We stopped the car and turned around just to see if our eyes where fooling us. Sure enough, there was a goat on the roof, and not just one goat, there where four of them. Now that is what I call a "green" roof.

My last Odd Shot Monday was a picture of a bell given to the City of New York by the City of London after Sept. 11. It is located outside St. Paul's chapel across the street from ground zero.

Odd Shot Monday

The answer to the What is it from a couple weeks ago is art near Pier 17 in New York. It was located suspended over the water between the walkways. If you look closely the circular objects where the bars cross are actually faces. I tried to find more information about it, but I couldn't find anything. If anyone knows more about it, then please let me know.

Can you guess what the above picture is? If you can tell me where it is and why it is there then you get extra brownie points.

Odd Shot Monday

SO, I pretty much have the smartest blog friends ever. You guys are amazing at this game. So, a lot of people said that last weeks photo looked like glass, and you are right. That picture as samples of orange soil from the moon, taken through a microscope. These particular ones were from Apollo 17. What happened is when the moon was still in its early stage it most likely underwent some kind of volcanic activity. These spheres formed from the explosion of moon magma that turned into spheres due to the lack of gravity and an atmosphere on the moon. The black ones are spheres that have started to crystallize. For more information check out this website.

You guys are so super smart, lets see if I can stump you with this one.

I apologize in advance for not being quick to respond, we are enjoying our vacation in New York City this week.

Odd Shot Monday!

Happy Monday everyone,
It was a busy weekend in the garden, and my laptop is still in pieces, so I didn't get a chance to post this weekend, sorry about that.

The answer to last weeks odd shot: dried tomatoes. The closest answer was dried peppers. Great job everyone who made a guess.

This week:

This one is really tough, so I will give you a couple of hints. First, this picture was taken through a microscope. Second, I'm a planetary scientist, so think outside of our world. Third, it is part of an educational series from NASA. Good Luck

Odd Shot Monday

The answer to last weeks picture is: muffleheads on a tree. Muffleheads usually appear this time of year, and there are good years and bad years. This year was a bad year. Muffleheads covered everything, and if you dare try to move they would swarm you. They don't bite or do anything else. I'm not sure what their purpose in life is, besides being annoying.

This week:

take a guess, what is it?

Odd Shot Monday

The answer to my "Odd Shot"/"What is it?" post from a couple weeks ago was my puppy's (Leia) backside. She has a cute backside, don't you think. Her skinny little tail, and her fat butt (don't tell her I said that, she is a little sensitive about it).

Can you guess what today's picture is? I know it is a tree, but what else?

Odd Shot Monday

SO, I have missed a gajillion Odd Shot Mondays, but I am back (until my life gets crazy again).
The answer to the last What is it? I did was; the black plastic underlayment that is now under our wonderful laminate floors.

Can you guess what the picture is this week?

Odd Shot Monday

Great job everyone who guessed cantaloupe last week.

I forgot to reveal the answer to a "What is It?" from a few weeks ago (February 18). The answer is: It is the view looking down into a ceramic vase.

This Week: Can you guess what it is?

What is it? (Now Odd Shot Monday)

Last week's picture was part of a banana tree. I had never seen a banana tree before, and didn't realize how interesting they were. This little thing hangs from bushel of bananas. I really don't know what it is called or the purpose of it, so if you know please share :)

This weeks what is it...
